Launching Volunteer Program to Empower Students

[Houston, 05.07.2025] — The Open Horizons team is proud to announce the launch of the official Open Horizons Member Program. Open Horizons is an initiative committed to making learning accessible to all. Whether you are a lifelong learner or someone beginning their academic journey, we believe everyone should be given the opportunity to learn, and we know we are not alone in believing this! 

The Open Horizons Member Program is a volunteer program inviting students across the country to join Open Horizons in making a positive impact on others. There will be several opportunities available to Open Horizons volunteers. For example, you will have the opportunity to curate learning resources to be featured in the Open Horizons website! We all come from different learning backgrounds, we have different interests, we gain knowledge in different ways, but we are all bound by our shared love of learning. The more we can share with each other, the greater our access to knowledge and the better our collective academic outcomes will be.  

If making learning materials isn’t your strong suit, no worries! Our Member Program offers other opportunities to make a difference. Interested in marketing? By becoming an Open Horizons member, you can also get the chance to participate in online awareness campaigns to spread our message across different mediums. As part of this, members may pursue social media promotion, outreach in real life, or other means they deem effective.  

Another service offered by the Member Program is tutoring and personal student assistance. Tutoring is a great way to overcome learning difficulties, and oftentimes one-on-one learning sessions are what’s required to properly grasp certain subjects. Not only would student assistance allow you to aid others in need, it would also help develop crucial skills such as communication, listening, empathy, critical thinking, and leadership. We couldn’t recommend this opportunity enough! 

In conclusion, the membership program would allow you to participate in: 

• Creating user-sourced study materials 

• Marketing and outreach 

• Tutoring and assistance services 

All of this in addition to becoming a distinguished, recognized member of the Open Horizons community! If you do choose to become a member, we are able to offer assistance and guidance if necessary so don’t feel too pressured by the workload.
